Welcome
King Edward’s is an exciting place to be. Our school heritage goes back to 1551 and beyond and throughout that time the school has survived by listening, learning, changing and adapting. The challenges of today makes these principles all the more important to ensure that every voice in our community is valued.King Edward’s may have been around longer than many schools but our focus is always on the future, whether that is on developing our site and our buildings or leading the way in eLearning and Webinars. We are committed to retaining the important aspects of our heritage, and aspects of the traditional grammar school ethos whilst embracing the changes of the modern world.
16-19 Bursary Fund
KEVIGS 16-19 Bursary
King Edward VI Grammar School is in receipt of government funding for each academic year from the 16-19 Bursary Fund. The purpose of this funding is to widen participation in Post-16 Education, by helping students to overcome any financial barriers that they may face, such as transport, meals, books and equipment.

KEVIGS 16-19 Bursary Fund is able to provide 3 separate awards:
-
A 'Vulnerable Bursary'
-
A 'Discretionary Bursary'
-
A 'Travel Award'.
Each award is subject to eligibility criteria, as outlined in the KEVIGS 16-19 Bursary Policy.

Applications for the next academic year open in the summer term of the current academic year, although we continue to accept late applications throughout the year, on a case by case basis. Students are asked to read the KEVIGS 16-19 Bursary Policy to check eligibility, details on available awards, and payment schedules. Students should then submit an application using the online 16-19 Bursary Application Form, and to provide evidence of household income as requested.

For the current academic year, we are also able to provide short term support towards the cost of school meals to any Sixth Form student in real need (regardless of household income). Students should use the online Emergency Food Support Application Form to submit an application.

Sixth Form Team are happy to help with any queries or support for the 16-19 Bursary here.
