Overview

Students explore literature, films, history, politics and cultural studies, providing a richer understanding of the societies where the language is spoken. We analyse texts and media critically, allowing you to interpret, evaluate different perspectives and problem solve. A diverse skill set and broad worldview links seamlessly with many other subjects such as English Literature, History, Business Studies, Politics, Psychology, Geography, Science, Mathematics, Art and Music. An A-Level in a foreign language enhances both linguistic proficiency and valuable transferable skills, preparing students for various academic and career paths.

Entry Requirements

Four GCSEs at grade 6 or above A grade 5 or higher in GCSE English A grade 5 or higher in GCSE Mathematics A minimum of a grade 6 at GCSE in Spanish

Assessment

Paper 1 Listening, Reading and Writing 50% (2.5 hours) Paper 2 Writing 20% (2 hours), Speaking 30% (21-23 mins)
