Uniform & Appearance Guidelines

At KEVIGS, we believe that a high standard of dress reflects pride in oneself and the school. Our uniform is inclusive, giving students the choice between two options, and must be purchased from Greenswear (Cleethorpes) or Uniform Direct to ensure correct items. It’s recommended to take your child when buying uniform to ensure the right fit.


Years 7–11: Skirt Uniform

  • Blazer: Navy with school badge

  • Skirt: Pendle pleated skirt (on the knee)

  • Blouse: Classic white open neck blouse (revere collar – not buttoned to the top)

  • Tie: Not required with open-neck blouse

  • Jumper: Navy V-neck with embroidered school badge (optional)

  • Shoes: Black leather type polishable school shoes (not trainers, plimsolls, canvas, boots or pumps)

  • Socks/Tights: White socks or black tights

  • Coat: Any appropriate colour


Years 7–11: Trouser Uniform

  • Blazer: Navy with school badge

  • Trousers: Mid-grey standard or tailored fit (no lycra/skinny leg)

  • Shirt: Classic white collared

  • Tie: Clip-on: Navy stripe (Y7–9), Red stripe (Y10–11)

  • Jumper: Navy V-neck with embroidered school badge (optional)

  • Shoes: Black leather type polishable school shoes (not trainers, plimsolls, canvas, boots or pumps)

  • Socks: Plain dark grey

  • Coat: Any appropriate colour

Accessories: Gloves, hair accessories, etc., should be black, navy, or dark grey. Hair bobbles are essential to tie long hair back. No trainers,canvas shoes or boots.


PE Uniform

  • School Polo Shirt (embroidered)

  • Winter Sports Shirt: Waterproof round-neck top (optional)

  • School Shorts Options: Skort, traditional shorts, or shorts with lycra inner

  • Leggings/Skins: Plain black (optional)

  • Socks: Red for winter, white for summer

  • Footwear: Training shoes with non-marking soles; football boots with safety studs

  • Protective Equipment: Shin pads; gum shield recommended

  • Optional PE equipment: Astro trainers (not for sports hall), tennis racket

All items should be clearly named. The school is not responsible for lost items.


Make-up & Jewellery

Ideally no jewellery, but permitted items:

Ears

  • One single pair of plain ear studs (not hoops/rings/flesh tunnels) can be worn, one in each ear bottom lobe, not in other areas of the ears.  

  • Small clear plastic studs are permitted in other parts of the ear (eg upper ear/cartilage). 

  • New piercings must still have a clear plastic stud fitted. 

Nose 

  • One small clear plastic stud only. 

  • No metal nose studs permitted. 

  • New piercings must still have a clear plastic stud fitted. 

Other jewellery 

  • One ring 

  • One watch.  

The following jewellery is not permitted 

  • Necklaces or bracelets 

  • Plastic or metal piercings in any other area, including (but not limited to) lip, eyebrow, tongue or other facial piercings. 

  • Multiple earrings in each ear lobe. 

  • Hoops, dangling earrings or bars.

Make Up, Hair and Nails:

  • Ideally no make-up; where this is worn, it should be very light and discreet.  

  • No false eyelashes.  

  • Hair should be clean and well groomed. Hair dye, if used, should be discreet and of a natural colour. The use of bright or garish colours is not permitted.  

  • Tattoos (permanent or semi-permanent) should not be visible.  

  • Nails should be natural and of a natural colour. No false, acrylic nails.
