16-19 Bursary

Financial Support for Sixth Form Students

The 16–19 Bursary Fund provides financial support to help Sixth Form students overcome practical barriers to learning, such as the cost of transport, meals, books and essential equipment.

Types of support available

King Edward VI Grammar School Sixth Form receives government funding each academic year and is able to offer the following support:

• Vulnerable Bursary
• Discretionary Bursary
• Travel Award

For the current academic year, short-term support towards the cost of school meals may also be available to any Sixth Form student experiencing genuine financial need, regardless of household income.

How to apply

Students who feel they may be eligible for support are encouraged to speak confidentially with the Sixth Form team. Application forms and guidance are available from the school, and all requests are treated sensitively and in confidence.
