How to Apply
Year 7 Admissions (11+ Entry)
Planning to join KEVIGS in Year 7?
Our admissions process guides you step by step—from registering for the 11+ test and attending our Open Evening, to taking the test and applying for a place. Follow these steps to secure your spot at our school and begin your journey with us.
Step 1: Registration for the 11+
- The 11+ test is required for Year 7 entry
- Register for the test
- Registration is managed by the Lincolnshire Consortium of Grammar Schools
- Registration opens in the spring term of Year 5 and closes on 31st March

Step 2: Attend our Open Evening
- Held during the summer term and gives you the chance to meet our staff and students to see what life at KEVIGS is like
Step 3: Take the 11+ Test
- The tests take place in September of Year 6
- Pupils sit two papers: Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning
- Results are released in mid-October, in time for secondary school applications
Step 4: Applying for a Place
- Apply through your Local Authority's application system by the national deadline of 31st October
- Name King Edward VI Grammar School as one of your preferences
