Encouraging Excellence, Nurturing Talent
Our aims for 2011/12 are to:
– provide an opportunity for parents and ‘friends’ within the community to get together and have a good time while also raising money for the school in the process
– strengthen links between the school and the local community to encourage our pupils to make a more active and positive contribution to local life
– raise funds for resources, equipment, trips and events to enhance the range and quality of educational and social opportunities on offer for our pupils
– build a strong and committed membership of parents and ‘friends’ which reflects the diverse range of talents, roles and personalities which form the basis of our unique school community
All parents are automatically members of the Friends Association. We recognise that work and family commitments do not always leave a huge amount of spare time for other activities. Therefore, our priority is to build up a list of members who can support the school in a variety of ways. Whether it is giving us ideas for fund raising events, putting us in contact with local groups or businesses, donating raffle prizes, taking on a committee role or just attending events when you can, all of your contributions will be very much appreciated.
We hope that you will join us and continue to make the Friends of King Edward’s a successful and enjoyable venture.
