Encouraging Excellence, Nurturing Talent
King Edward’s held its first ever Black Tie Leavers’ Ball on 27th May at The Kenwick Park Hotel. Guests were welcomed with a Champagne Reception on the main lawns where Mr Slingsby organised a group photograph. Guests then moved through to the Meridian Suite to enjoy a three course dinner with wine. Mr Lascelles thanked all those involved in the organisation of the Ball and wished Year 13 well for the future. Following on from this students, staff and parents enjoyed the thrills of the Casino tables and danced the night away into the small hours.
I would like to thank everyone who helped me organise the Leavers Ball and for making it such a wonderful evening for everyone. The evening was an all round success, and I have spent the successive days scanning Facebook looking at some of the brilliant photos taken throughout the evening - details of how to get the official photographs taken by Mr Slingsby will be e mailed out soon. It was equally brilliant to see parents and teachers partying with students, and eventually hitting the dance floor. It’s moments like these that will stay with you forever. I particularly want to say thanks to all the teachers for their help and the Sixth Form Leavers Committee, along with all the parents who attended to make it such a special evening.
Finally to the future Y13's, good luck in organising your Leavers’ Ball, it’s hard work, and at times stressful but nonetheless hugely rewarding. My top advice would be get fundraising early and don’t worry about the parents being there it really worked! I want to take this opportunity to wish you all the very best in the future.
