Encouraging Excellence, Nurturing Talent in Every Individual

Join our team

My NQT experience at King Edward’s has been overwhelmingly positive. The staff within my department, as well as in the wider school have been really supportive and I have gained advice from many different staff. It seems there is a nice blend of experienced staff who can help you out, but also some young staff who have recently had to adapt to the way the school works and what the students are like.

The best aspect of the school for me this year has been the behaviour and attitude of the students. They really are a joy to teach and I have always felt relaxed about trying new T+L strategies. Furthermore, the trip opportunities really are a real perk of the job for me. I appreciate they aren’t for everybody but I have really enjoyed that opportunity.  Sam Brennan, History NQT

Head of Department JD

Hello and thank you for taking the time to visit our website.

At King Edward's we are committed to ensuring the highest standards in Teaching and Learning.  The classroom experience is the single and most vitally important thing that our staff do and as a school our aim is to support and nurture the talent that we are fortunate to have in our staffroom.  We hope to provide a supportive start for those new to the profession as well as providing opportunities for a new intellectual challenge for those for whom this might be their second or third move.  Our Deputy Head Teaching and Learning and his team of Lead Practitioners and  our links with the Education Departments at Hull University and Bishop Grosseteste University  mean that we can offer a supportive enrivonment for teachers to flourish and develop.  Last year nearly 50% of observed lessons were rated as outstanding and it is our desire to help all teachers excel and become outstanding practitioners.

Please do look carefully at the various downloads on the righthand side including the information about re-location for those who are not familiar with the area.  If you have any further questions then please do not hesitate to get in touch with our Recruitment Officer (Rhona Adam) on 01507 600456.
