We recognise that moving from a small Primary School with 50 or 60 children to a large secondary school with 800 pupils can be a daunting experience for many children.
At King Edward's we try to make this process as simple as possible.
Summer Induction Days
Our Induction Days held in July are designed to familiarise pupils with the school, its buildings and routines. Our main aim is to ensure that the children enjoy themselves, have a fun three days and begin the process of making new friends so that there are some familiar faces when they arrive.
The Summer Induction Day process finishes with a big party and a disco on the final evening.
Autumn Induction Day
New Year 7 start in September before any other year group. This gives them an opportunity to be together on site, get ready for the week ahead and not have the pressure of the whole school on site. It is a useful reminder for them of the daily routine we have here and helps them to find their feet.
