King Edward's Annual Academic Awards Evening was held in the Town Hall. The evening celebrated the success of this years examination classes and is a final opportunity to wish a fond farewell to the departing Year 13. In addition it is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate success across the whole School.
The guest speaker for the Evening was Kate Finnie - Year 13 pupil and winner of this year's Scholar's Prize. The Scholar's Prize is open to all students in Year 13 who must research and prepare a speech on a chosen topic. Kate choose the title "What books are bad for you?" a popular question set by Cambridge admissions tutors for their English Literature course. In a stunning speech Kate combined intellectual prowess with fine comic timing and won £150.
